Anime game fans got so angry about a nudity-related age rating they brought down South Korea’s ‘festering and rotting’ game rating agency for corruption-

South Korea’s Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC) graces our news pages a lot. A bizarre amount, actually, and it’s because it might be the leakiest organisation of its type on the planet. In the last month alone, the agency’s rating process has inadvertently revealed the existence of a Quake 2 Remaster and given countless people hope that something, anything might be happening to free Red Dead Redemption 1 from its Xbox 360 and PS3 prison.

But now it’s made the news for a very different reason: PocketGamer.biz (via Niche Gamer) reports that the agency is being taken to task over a corruption scandal that’s apparently seen hundreds of millions of won in taxpayers’ money go missing, and it’s only happening because the GRAC made the mistake of angering a legion of anime game fans.

Things kicked off last October, when the GRAC made the fateful decision to ratchet up the age rating on Blue Archive—a mobile, gacha-style anime RPG from Nexon—from 15 to 18. The presence of Blue Archive characters in a state of undress was, apparently, too much for the GRAC, which told Nexon to either raise its game’s age limit or alter the offending sc…

Five Nights at Freddy’s creator thanks fans for not watching leaked trailer-

After making us wait for eight years, the Five Nights at Freddy’s feature film finally got a debut date last month: It’s slated to hit the big screens on October 27. And, like clockwork, a month after that announcement was made, an unfinished version of the first official trailer has leaked, a development that Five Nights creator Scott Cawthon said left him “really, really disheartened.”

Cawthon wrote on Reddit that he first heard about the leak while at an amusement park with his kids, so he couldn’t fully see what had happened. He said he tried to ignore the reports and enjoy his day, but of course that didn’t work out too well.

“I know that Blumhouse and Universal (and me too) have all worked very hard to make something really exciting to share,” Cawthon wrote. “So the thought of a first-look being spoiled was frustrating, and I was really dreading coming home to see what all had happened while I was away.”

To his surprise (and, frankly, mine), he found there was a lot of pushback against the leak from members of the Five Nights community, including streamers who refused to do videos about it, and forum mods barring discussion of the trailer. And it looks to…

PC gaming made me a better drummer than I had any right to be—all thanks to an electronic kit and open source software

I’m not alone when I say I have always wanted to learn how to play the drums. Though I never really believed I could, and not without reason. When I was in school, I dabbled in music and played a few instruments here and there, but never managed drums. I didn’t know why at the time but drumming was always to be a challenge. Thanks to a combination of a lack of coordination, ligaments made out of old elastic bands, and other hypermobility and energy issues, I was flat out told that I’d never be able to hit at things rhythmically.

I’ve still kept an interest in music but not actively played very much, and certainly never touched a drum kit. A few years back a friend let me have a bash on their ekit and taught me a basic beat, completely blowing my mind. It was possible. There’s no way my house can fit a traditional kit, so I started looking more into electric kit solutions and software. That’s when one of my friends, who’s been drumming for over 20 years, got me into YARG.

YARG stands for Yet Another Rhythm Game. It’s essentially open source Guitar Hero/Rock Band that you can download and play right now, for free. It adopts the sam…
